How to Survive a Plague, a powerful new documentary which chronicles the rise and success of HIV/AIDS advocacy groups ACT UP and Treatment Action Group, released an official trailer today, which you can see below.
How To Survive a Plague will open in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco on Friday, September 21 with a national release to follow. It’s a harrowing look at how these pioneering groups of people, many of whom didn’t know how much longer they had to live, fought tooth and nail to push the US Government and drug manufacturers to start taking the AIDS epidemic seriously and develop drug treatments. The film deservedly received a standing ovation when it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where it was acquired by IFC Films and Sundance Selects for distribution. This is definitely a film worth catching if it opens at a theater near you.
