New Yorkers, join us in celebrating the memory and legacy of Lou Rispoli with an all-Mozart concert and candlelight vigil on Friday, May 3 at 8 PM.
"A beloved community leader, Lou died last fall after being attacked in a senseless act of violence. He was adored by his husband Danyal Lawson, his friends, family, and anyone he ever met. A decades-long LGBT & HIV-AIDS activist, Lou was devoted to the people he loved and the arts."
Sponsored by the New York City Anti-Violence Project, the LGBT Center, and GLAAD, this event will take place at 8 PM the Greenwich House Music School (46 Barrow St.) in Manhattan. Tickets will be $20 at the door, cash only. All proceeds will benefit the German Diez Piano Scholarship Fund. The concert will feature pianists Sara Davis Buechner and Danyal Lawson, as well as violinist Stephanie Chase.
The candlelight vigil will immediately follow the concert at 9:45 PM, and anyone is welcome to attend for free.
