Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.
1) Out director Jamie Babbit's new film, Breaking The Girls, will have its theatrical debut August 2nd at the Arena Cinema in Los Angeles with the film's stars, Madeline Zima and Agnes Bruckner, sticking around for an exclusive Q&A after the screening. In the film, which is inspired by the Hitchcock classic Strangers on a Train, Sara (Bruckner) and Alex (Zima) meet at a bar and instantly find a connection to one another—both sexual and sociopathic. While their relationship begins to heat up, they each plot to kill the other's enemies and soon find themselves trapped in a mess of their own making. 2) Keep an eye out for Shoreline Entertainment's Geography Club, which could be coming soon to a theater near you! Breaking Glass Pictures bought distribution rights to the coming-of-age film about a group of high school students exploring their identities. The school's popular quarterback, Kevin, and boyfriend Russel create the "Geography Club" to discuss their relationships, sexual confusion and feelings with other like-minded students. The film is based on a novel of the same name by Brent Hartinger, and just won an award for best first feature film at at the 2013 Outfest Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival.

Oscar winners Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker play Stella and Dot in director Thom Fitzgerald's Cloudburst, now on DVD. Stella and Dot have been together for 31 years, but when Dot's granddaughter informs Stella that she has arranged a place in a nursing home for Dot, the couple set out on a road trip to Canada, where marriage equality is legal, in order to not be torn apart. 4) The Fosters creators Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige talk about Lena and Stef's wedding, as well as the Supreme Court's rulings on the Proposition 8 and so-called "Defense of Marriage Act" (DOMA) cases in a video released exclusively by E! In it they talk about what the show has meant to the cast in the context of the legal changes same-sex couples have seen in the last few months, shooting the wedding episode on the day the Proposition 8 plaintiffs got married, and waiting on those crucial decisions so they could make the finale's script as accurate and emotional as possible. 5) Antigone Rising has debuted a brand new music video for their hit single "That Was the Whiskey" on Country Music Television! The all-female classic rock band's frontwoman is Kristen Ellis-Henderson, who has written a memoir called Times Two with her wife Sarah. The two can also be seen sharing a kiss on the cover of Time magazine in support of marriage equality. Check out Antigone Rising's new video below!
6) The Out List now has a coffee table book to accompany the recent premiere of the documentary on HBO. The contents of the book include portraits taken by Timothy Greenfield Sanders as well as quotes and words of wisdom from interviews with out celebrities and athletes like Ellen DeGeneres and Wade Davis. 7) From graphic novelist Bruce Brown and Arcana Studio comes Gordon the Giraffe, a short novel about a young giraffe who is teased and bullied by his fellow giraffes for playing with a boy giraffe, Gary, instead of a girl giraffe in their daily game called Mulunga Doo. Gordon teaches the other giraffes that everyone should be loved and appreciated, regardless of who they love or want to hang out with. Brown told The Advocate that he wrote the novel to pay homage to his gay brother, who recently passed away.
8) Wolfe Video in partnership with organizations such as Lesbian.com, OneGoodLove.com and Sweet is raising funds for Freedom To Marry, a non-profit dedicated to making sure same-sex couples across the nation have the right to marry their loved one.
