Congratulations to all of the nominees and award recipients for the 2012 GLAAD Amplifier Awards, brought to you by the Omnicom Group and honoring outstanding images of the LGBT community in public relations and advertising.
J.C. Penney took home the big award for the Advertising - The Hot Spot category (mainstream market). Cooper Smith Koch and Todd Koch, known to many as the 'J.C. Penney dads,' sent in an adorable video message featuring their children Claire and Mason.
Other award recipients included:

- Digital - Out and Interactive: "Equality Is _____" (Allstate Insurance Co.)
- Public Relations - Out and Proud: "The Faceoff" (You Can Play Project)

Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge (The Amazing Race, The Fabulous Beekman Boys), Christian Campbell (Big Love), Isis King (model and designer), Janet Mock (writer and advocate), and Ryan Serhant (Million Dollar Listing) were among the celebrities who joined GLAAD to honor the campaigns and brands in New York City at XL Nightclub brought to you by The Omnicom Group and presented by Ketel One and Ketchum.
Our own Wilson Cruz hosted the event which elevates and promotes individuals and projects in the advertising and public relations industries for groundbreaking representations of the LGBT community.
"Tonight's nominees and award recipients set new industry standards which underline the value of gay and transgender consumers," said GLAAD President Herndon Graddick. "More and more companies are moving toward campaigns that include LGBT people, not only as potential customers, but as part of the American cultural fabric."
Cruz also took a moment to remember Sahara Davenport, who tragically passed away on Monday.
Other attendees included: Ramona Singer, Aviva Drescher (The Real Housewives of New York City); Carmen Carrera, Jiggly Caliente, Mimi Imfurst, and Phi Phi O’hara (Rupaul’s Drag Race); comedian Dave Rubin; singer/songwriter Alex Davis; and the Imperial Court of New York Emperor XXI Ritz Kraka and Empress XXVI Witti Repartee.
