The GLAAD Wrap: Casting news for 'True Blood,' 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' and a new 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' novel

Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.

1) True Blood's Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) is getting a serious boyfriend! The show is currently casting the series regular role of Drake, "a cross between Jim Morrison and James Dean, this brooding and insanely good-looking [vampire] is a compassionate protector with a poet’s edge." The incoming Drake marks Lafayette's first serious love interest since the death of his previous boyfriend, Jesus, during season 5. The seventh and final season of True Blood is expected to air on HBO this summer.

2) Fox's Brooklyn Nine-Nine has cast Marc Evan Jackson as Captain Holt's (Andre Braugher) husband Kevin Cozner, TVLine reports. He will be introduced on the series in early 2014 when he invites the 99th precinct to celebrate Holt's birthday at their home.

3) New Fox comedy Fatrick will see a Don't Hate the B---- in Apartment 23 reunion! The comedy from Apartment 23 writer Nahnatchka Khan recently cast Ray Ford (James' out assistant Luther from Apartment 23) as lead character Patrick's best friend Maurice who has been with him since childhood. Dante Hoagland will play the 12-year-old version of Maurice, described as "the unabashedly gay kid and Patrick's only and best friend."

4) World of Wonder (WOW), "an international powerhouse production and entertainment company creating groundbreaking" film and TV shows, hosted its first WOWie awards at their holiday celebration December 12. Awards were given to outstanding blogs, social media accounts, and YouTubers including Tyler Oakley. Hosted by James St James and Michelle Visage, the event was also attended by Adam Lambert, Manila Luzon from RuPaul's Drag Race, LaToya Jackson, new season six RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Laganja Estranja and Kelly Mantle.

5) The 13th installment of Kevin Keller, Archie's out comic book pal, has a cover and a synopsis. In the upcoming edition, an online gossip site pops up at Riverdale High, and Kevin sets out to discover the writer responsible before his and the rest of the school's reputations' are ruined. A GLAAD Media Award recipient for 'Outstanding Comic Book,' Kevin Keller's issue #13 will be on sale starting March 19.

6) Hit book series, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo gets a fourth book. David Lagercrantz will take over the series after original author, Stieg Larsson, passed away in 2004. The first three books in the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy have sold more than 75 million copies, and the 2011 film adaptation grossed $233 million worldwide. The next installment will continue to feature journalist Mikael Blomqvist and bisexual hacker Lisbeth Salander and is expected to be published in August 2015.

7) Lesbian romantic comedy feature, Love the Pink Kiss, needs help raising funds to produce their film. The story follows twenty-something Sarah Niles who drunkenly accepts a bribe to marry complete stranger, Robbie. Surprised to learn Robbie is a woman, Sarah is further shocked when Robbie must move in with her and she develops feelings for her. "This movie starts with a wedding farce, embarks on an emotional comedic journey, then ends with a wedding created through true love."
