Be sure to tune in to HBO's new dramedy series Looking, which premieres this Sunday, January 19th, at 10:30 p.m. following Girls

Looking focuses on the lives of three gay men in contemporary San Fransisco:  Patrick (Jonathan Groff), Agustín (Frankie J. Alvarez), and Dom (Murray Bartlett).  Patrick is a 29-year-old video game developer exploring the possibilities of dating in the San Francisco LGBT community.  Agustín, Patrick's roommate, is questioning his decision to move in with his boyfriend and its implications about monogamy and domesticity.  At 39 years old, Dom is dealing with his feelings about approaching middle age and a fear that he hasn't accomplished enough.  Russell Tovey, Scott Bakula, and Raul Castillo also co-star, and you can watch a special character spot below.

Looking is created and executive produced by Andrew Haigh, director of 2011's acclaimed indie drama Weekend, and Michael Lannan.  Shows focused exclusively or predominantly on the lives of LGBT people are still rare on a major network like HBO, with Showtime's Queer as Folk and The L Word among the few to ever do so.  Looking's first season is comprised of eight half-hour episodes, the first of which you can catch this Sunday at 10:30 p.m.
