Today, GLAAD announced the nominees for the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards and some of the nominees include progressive voices within the GOP.

Talk show host Meghan McCain's Raising McCain, which airs on Pivot, dedicated an episode to LGBT issues, during which she talked to Wilson Cruz, Wade Davis and several other openly gay personalities. The episode also showed Cindy McCain being honored by The Trevor Project.

Meghan tweeted about her excitement when she heard of the nomination for the episode.

The episode of Raising McCain is not the only nominee to feature a pro-LGBT voice from the GOP. An interview with Sen. Rob Portman from Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien was nominated in the Outstanding TV Journalism Segment category.
