The Family Equality Council honored LGBT advocate Jennifer Tyrrell over the weekend during its 10th Annual Los Angeles Awards Dinner. Jennifer and her partner Alicia also got to take a well-deserved break from their kids and have some fun at Universal Studios.

"I couldn't think of anyone more deserving of this recognition," said Rich Ferraro, GLAAD Vice President of Communications. "Jen and Alicia are not only great parents, but great people and our staff is so proud to have worked with them."

Jennifer was honored for her advocacy that helped lead to an end to the Boy Scouts of America's ban on gay scouts. Since April 2012, GLAAD has worked with Jennifer on a national campaign urging the Boy Scouts of America to end its ban on gay Scouts and adult leaders. Since the ban on gay scouts has been lifted, GLAAD has continued to work with Jennifer to advocate for an end to the ban on gay leaders. Check out some photos from the Family Equality Council's Los Angeles Awards Dinner and Jennifer and Alicia's trip to Universal Studios.
