Delta Air Lines has been a strong supporter of GLAAD for the past four years, and in this month's issue of Delta's Sky magazine they highlight another long-time GLAAD ally.
The October issue features Chaz Bono discussing his support of GLAAD as part of Sky magazine's regular feature, "Just Cause." The "Just Cause" column spotlights celebrities talking about issues and organizations that are important to them. The text reads:
For more than 25 years, GLAAD has transformed attitudes and promoted equality by sharing the stories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, including Chaz Bono. "GLAAD's work with the media has helped people understand that gay and transgender people are deserving of full equality," Bono says. "When the media became interested in the story of my transition, GLAAD was there to make sure that I was treated fairly by journalists and media outlets." Delta Air Lines and Chaz Bono are also participating in this year’s Spirit Day on October 19. Delta will be lighting the JFK Traffic Tower in New York purple to show their support for LGBT youth, and Chaz is showing his support through his social media network.
GLAAD is grateful for the financial support of Delta Air Lines, and for all the contributions Chaz Bono has made toward increasing the public's understanding of transgender people.
