Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway announced he will no longer defend the state's ban on marriage for same-sex couples. During the emotional speech, Conway said, “As attorney general of Kentucky, I must draw the line when it comes to discrimination.” Watch the video:
After the speech, Gov. Steve Beshear released a statement saying he will seek outside counsel to appeal District Judge John G. Heyburn II’s ruling that Kentucky must marriages for same-sex couples performed outside the state.
