Recent Supreme Court decisions have meant that married same-sex couples gained many federal benefits. If you are a married same-sex couple, or thinking about marriage, an LGBT parent with minor children, or/and an LGBT individual who is planning for retirement, you may have a lot of questions about how changes in laws could affect you.
On Thursday March 20 2014, Latino Equality Alliance (LEA), Jordan Rustin Coalition (JRC), and API Equality LA (API EQ-LA), will be hosting a Know Your Rights town hall designed to educate, discuss and answer any questions on social security benefits for the LGBT community.
Those on the town hall panel include: Linda T. Sanchez Member of Congress, Grace M. Kim, Regional Commissioner in the Social Security Administration, and Elena I. Popp, social justice attorney who will also serve as the event moderator.
