The upcoming Fox reality series Utopia will challenge 15 everyday Americans to create and sustain their own civilization in an isolated undeveloped location for up to one year, and hopes to include LGBT people within its cast. Given that the show's executive producer is The Voice and Big Brother creator John de Mol, it's not surprising that the series is looking to create a diverse cast reflective of the real world, and is currently casting nationwide. Interested candidates age 21 and over may apply now at UtopiaTV.com.
Cameras will follow the Utopia cast 24 hours a day and viewers will be able to watch online and weekly on Fox as a new community unfolds, and even become involved as a valuable asset to the contestants. The Fox series is adapted from de Mol's original Utopia which debuted in the Netherlands in January and became the SBS6 network's highest rated unscripted series premiere in six years where it continued to win top ratings in its time slot for 10 consecutive nights.
