Tyler Glenn, lead singer of Utah New Wave pop band Neon Trees, comes out as gay in the newest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, on sale March 28. The full interview with Glenn will be available online tomorrow, March 25. Neon Trees' first single "Animal" reached 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was later covered on Glee, as was their single "Everybody Talks." In 2011, the band won the Billboard Music Award for Top Alternative Song for "Animal."
"I really love all of the sports figures that are coming out recently," Glenn said. "I appreciated Michael Sam was like, 'I want to be able to go to the movies and hold hands with my boyfriend.' Even hearing him say 'boyfriend,' I was just like, that's cool."

Yes. I am a happy and healthy Mormon gay pop star. I don't know what it all means, but I'm ok with it. http://t.co/PEcgvRsGn6
