In honor of a young LGBT activist who took his own life earlier this year, a campaign began to commemorate his work for the LGBT rights in Azerbaijan. Isa Shakhmarli served as Chairman of Azerbaijan Free LGBT Organization and was a founder of several projects aimed to promote equality in his country. Just weeks after hanging himself on a rainbow flag, the Azerbaijan Free LGBT organization began an initiative to continue his work as well as honor his life. The "Love is love" initiative is an online picture campaign where people can post pictures of themselves in support of the LGBT rights in Azerbaijan. Since February 14th the campaign collected over 400 submissions.
