Jessica Dutro, who was charged with fatally beating her young son days before his 4th birthday, has been convicted of murder, murder by abuse and second-degree assault. The verdict was unanimous.

Zachary Dutro-Boggess died on August 16, 2012 of blunt-force trauma and delayed medical treatment, reports Oregon Live.

In Facebook messages between Dutro and her boyfriend, Brian Canady, she believed Zachary was gay. "He walks and talks like it. Ugh." Using an anti-gay slur she told Canady that he needed to "work on" her son.

While these messages were admissible evidence what finally convicted Dutro was the testimony of her 8-year-old daughter.

"Zach, he's my real dad and Brian is my stepdad. My mom is Jessica," she said according to her therapist. "They would punch me and slap me. They beat my brother up, then he died. I seen them."
