GLAAD is proud to co-sponsor the first annual Latin@ Queer Arts and Film Festival this April 10-13, 2014 in Los Angeles. This festival is a follow up to a successful showcase of films last year, inspired by the organizers' realization that audiences hunger for and need for images and art related to the experiences of Latin@ queer people.

Jonathan Menendez, Karla Legaspy and the local Advisory Board have put together a roster of narrative and documentary shorts, feature films, art exhibits, and performances that organizers promise will entertain, spark conversation and inspire audiences. The festival will take place throughout the weekend and will feature Transvisible, The Bamby Salcedo Story, a documentary about powerful trans activist Bamby Salcedo; Gay Latino LA: Coming of Age, a documentary about Los Angeles area gay Latino men, La Partida, a Spanish-Cuban film that was shown in Havana's 35th annual film festival and two afternoons of short film programs. In addition, Karen Anzoategui who performed her one-woman show ¡Ser! at the Los Angeles Theatre Center last year will participate along with other performance artists in pieces that explore the intersections of Latin@ and queer identity.
