Tiq Milan, GLAAD's Senior Media Strategist, appeared on HuffPost Live yesterday to discuss the possibility of President Obama signing an executive order to enact the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). If written into law, ENDA would protect transgender, lesbian, gay, and bisexual people from workplace harassment and discrimination.
"I think the executive order is a step in the right direction. It really doesn't make any sense that any place in this country, LGBT people can lose their livelihood because of who they love or because of their gender identity," said Tiq.
Watch the video below to see what else Tiq had to say about protections for LGBT workers:
While ENDA passed through the Senate, it has not been brought to the House of Representatives for a vote. Speaker of the House John Boehner referred to the legislation as "unnecessary."
