Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.
1) James Franco is set to star in Michael, a movie about the life of Michael Glatze, a gay activist and founder of XY magazine, who became an "ex-gay" and anti-gay activist. Justin Kelly will direct, and Gus Van Sant will executive produce. The movie will be based on Benoit Denizet-Lewis's article "My Ex-Gay Friend," which was published in The New York Times Magazine in 2011.
2) Tony Award winner Billy Porter has released a new solo album for the first time in almost a decade. Billy's Back on Broadway is made up of ten Broadway classics including "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Funny Girl and "I Am Changing" from Dreamgirls. Porter is also still playing the role of Lola, the drag heroine star of Kinky Boots, on Broadway. You can purchase the album here and read an interview with Porter here.
3) Glee creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy has revealed that not only will the sixth and final season of Glee will not be centered in New York, there will also be a time jump between this season and next. For further explanation and more news, check out this interview. Furthermore, Heather Morris, who plays bisexual character Brittany, will be back for the season five finale. 
4) Out actor B.D. Wong will return to Law & Order: SVU for the season's second-to-last episode. He will reprise his role as Dr. George Huang, a gay doctor and FBI agent. Wong was a series regular for nine seasons of the show, and will reportedly also be prominently featured in the upcoming Jurassic Park sequel, Jurassic World.
5) The Canadian sitcom Seed will have its American premiere on the CW this summer. Seed tells the story of Harry, an underachieving bartender who is also a sperm donor. The show follows Harry as he gets to know three of his donor families, including interracial lesbian couple Zoey and Michelle and their nine-year-old son Billy. Look for Seed on Monday, July 14th at 9:30pm.
6) Out musician Mary Lambert has begun the #BodyLove campaign in anticipation of the release of her music video "Body Love" on Tuesday, April 22. Lambert has posted about the song and movement on her blog and launched a website where fans can join her in sharing why they love different parts of their bodies. She has also released a "1 Mic, 1 Take" video on VEVO.
7) Out producer Megan Ellison is set to executive produce a television series about Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich from out writer Angela Robinson (D.E.B.S., The L Word). Ellison's film production and finance company Annapurna Pictures will finance or produce. The show is set in the Golden Age of Hollywood and will explore the stars' relationships with each other and John Gilbert, Mercedes de Acosta, Tallulah Bankhead, Alla Nazimova, Barbara Stanwyck, Cary Grant, John Wayne, and more.
8) The Kazakhstani short film Phobos is currently raising production costs on Indiegogo. Director and writer Alexy Slidenko's film is about homophobia and "a young man who could not stand his best friend’s sexual orientation, until the day his friend was murdered."
