Superstars from the professional wrestling organization World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) have teamed with the NOH8 campaign to show their support for marriage equality. Out WWE superstar Darren Young is happy to see the organization standing for equality; saying, "I am so honored to be a part of the WWE NOH8 campaign. The most important thing is to be able to live your life the way you want to, truthfully. NOH8 makes that possible."
"Our mission at WWE is to put smiles on people's faces and we do that, in part, by participating in initiatives that help fight bullying of all kinds," said Stephanie McMahon, Chief Brand Officer, WWE, who appears in the photos. "We are proud to support the LBGT community by taking part in the WWE NOH8 campaign."
Young and several of his WWE colleagues joined GLAAD for Spirit Day last year to voice their support for LGBT youth. The Be a STAR Alliance, created by the Creative Coalition and WWE to ensure a positive and equitable social environment for everyone regardless of age, race, religion or sexual orientation through grassroots efforts beginning with education and awareness, voiced their support on Spirit Day as well with several tweets sending encouragement to LGBT youth.
Young was recently announced as a "Boss of Honor" at GaymerX2, the LGBT gaming convention preparing for its second annual event to take place in San Francisco this summer. He also recently became the first openly gay athlete to appear in a sports game title with the release of WWE 2K14.
