Superstar singer and actress Demi Lovato will be performing at LA Pride on June 8 and NYC Pride's Dance on the Pier on June 29, as well as joining the LA Pride Parade as Grand Marshal.
"It’s such an honor to be a part of both L.A. and NYC Pride celebrations this year," Lovato said. "I have been an active advocate of the LGBT community and am wholly committed to supporting individuality and being comfortable in one’s own skin. I am thrilled to be a part of both events as they are a wonderful celebration of independence and self-confidence."
Go purple now for #SpiritDay 10/17. Stand against bullying. Show LGBT youth we've got their backs http://t.co/DIdb3ah3Pt

Lovato participated in GLAAD's Spirit Day last year and used her voice to stand against bullying and show support for LGBT teens and young adults everywhere. She also guest starred on several episodes of Glee this season as Dani, a struggling artist and the love interest of Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera). Lovato hopes her character was able to inspire others to "love who they are and accept who they are."
LA Pride runs June 6-8 with NYC Pride running from June 21-29. It was recently announced that Jonathan Groff, Rea Carey and Laverne Cox will serve as Grand Marshals for the NYC Pride Parade.
