The GLAAD Wrap: 'Out to Win' LGBT athlete documentary, LGBT-inclusive fall TV and more!

Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.

1) Director Malcolm Ingram, who brought the lives of rural southern LGBT people to the screen with Small Town Gay Bar, is working on a new documentary. Out to Win, which is set to premiere in early 2015, traces the histories of out and closeted LGBT athletes. Using voices both past and present, Ingram's project examines the burden of the closet in the world of professional sports.

2) Fuse's Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, which just received the award for Outstanding Reality Program at the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles, follows bounce superstar Big Freedia as she tries to take bounce music into the mainstream. Fuse has a new trailer for its second season which starts June 11, Watch the trailer below!

3) The Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black, recently named Outstanding Comedy Series at the 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York, has been renewed for a third season! Following cast member Laura Prepon's casual Instagram announcement, Netflix confirmed the renewal. Coming weeks before the June 6 premiere of season two, this is exciting news for fans. 4) Out director Lee Daniels is confirmed to write and produce a new Fox hip-hop drama. Empire, a family drama starring Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard as the ex-wife and head of a hip-hop record label respectively, will also feature original music from Timbaland. A release date hasn't yet been announced, but Empire is slated for the 2014-15 season on Fox.

5) Billy Eichner, the openly gay host of Billy on the Street, is teaming up with Julie Klausner and Amy Poehler for a USA comedy pilot. Difficult People, set to star Eichner and Klausner as best friends living in New York City together, continues Eichner's relationship with Poehler following his appearance on NBC's Parks and Recreation.

6) Elliott Gould is confirmed to join John Mulaney's semi-autobiographical comedy recently picked up by Fox. Gould will portray Mulaney's gay neighbor. The comedy has been ordered for 16 episodes, but no premiere date has yet been announced.

7) NBC has ordered Marry Me, a comedy series following the relationship between couple Annie and Jake, who have been together for six years, and are always trying to get things right for a proposal. Out actor Dan Bucatinsky will portray one of two gay fathers to Annie, alongside Tim Meadows.

8) Mary Lambert's "She Keeps Me Warm" is featured on the most recent release of NOW That's What I Call Music. The track's inclusion in volume 50 of the compilation of popular music comes after Lambert's launch of the Body Love campaign. You can learn more about the campaign here, and buy Now! 50 on iTunes.

9) Andrew Garfield, most recently known for his portrayal of Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, is featured in Arcade Fire's new video for the song "We Exist" about a son coming out to his father. The teaser video released last Friday shows Garfield at Coachella last month, where lead Win Butler told the crowd, "The right to marry anyone you want is a human rights issue." You can watch the short teaser below, and look out for the full video in the coming weeks.

10) A new documentary being made about "the gay voice" needs your help to finish production! Do I Sound Gay? follows director David Thorpe as he explores the history and emotions behind the harmful stereotypes of "the gay voice." Featuring such prominent LGBT figures as Margaret Cho, George Takei, and Tim Gunn, the documentary has filmed for three years and has 165 interviews already.
