NYC Pride released its Pride Guide this week and among those featured was GLAAD's Vice President of Communications and Programs Rich Ferraro. The guide celebrates the 45th anniversary of the uprising at the Stonewall Inn, and looks at individuals who are using the social and political advances that the movement has gained since then to push LGBT equality forward today.
The guide, which features Orange is the New Black star Laverne Cox on the cover, also serves as a roadmap for people enjoying pride in New York City this year.
Ferraro was pictured alongside Nathan Schaefer of the Empire State Pride Agenda, Jama Shelton of the True Colors Fund and Zachary Barnett of the Abzyme Research Foundation. Others featured in the guide include Carmen Carrera, Billy Porter, Janet Mock, Glennda Testone and more.
In the guide, Ferraro says, "Our work is not over until our culture, not only our laws, fully accepts and values LGBT people and families, including LGBT people of color and transgender individuals. I worry that some LGBT people think 'we've won,' not realizing that anti-LGBT organizations are well-funded, well-organized and are not slowing down."
