On June 16th, classically trained vocalist and violinist Tona Brown will headline this year's TrevorLIVE, the semi-annual comedy and music event of the Trevor Project, the nation's leading provider of crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBT youth. This year's event will be hosted by comedian Wanda Sykes and honoring Arianna Huffington, founder of the Huffington Post.
Brown is an accomplished musician who is slated to make history at Carnegie Hall this year as the first African-American transgender woman to perform at the famed concert hall on June 25th. She'll be performing songs her compendium of selections by African-American composers, This is Who I Am. She is also the first transgender artist to sing for a sitting president and has a part of the It Gets Better Project.
