This Friday, June 27, is the 10th annual Trans Day of Action (TDOA), organized by TransJustice at the Audre Lorde Project. Trans Day of Action is a march and rally that brings together trans and gender non-conforming people of color and allies to call attention to continued violence and discrimination, while simultaneously lifting up a legacy of resilience, organizing, and community building. Points of unity hold together the purpose of the march, which also celebrates the 45th anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion.

"Our struggle for liberation and justice has not been simple or easy, but vital in moving forward our desire and ability to struggle across difference while honoring the legacy and leadership of our people" writes TransJustice Coordinator Elliott Fukui in a statement about the 10th anniversary of TDOA. "Ours is a movement centered in love, accountability, collective power and transformation."

GLAAD is endorsing the TDOA again this year, along with several individual advocates and organizations. The march will begin at 2:00 pm at the Christopher Street Pier in New York City and end at 5:00 pm.

Find out more about TDOA on the Audre Lorde Project's website, join the Facebook event, and help spread the word about Trans Day of Action using the hashtag #TDOA.
