Just this morning, Burger King launched a digital film in honor of LGBT Pride. The video, which was filmed in a San Francisco Burger King during the LGBT Pride march this past weekend, sends a strong message in support of equality. At the restaurant where the film took place, a limited edition Proud Whopper Sandwich was added to the menu. While the burger is identical to the original Whopper that has always been available, it is wrapped in rainbow colored paper that reads, "we are all the same inside."

The theme of the film, "Be your way," is a spin-off of the fast food chain's original slogan, "Have it your way," and encourages customers and all others to be who they truly are. Kelly Gomes, Director of West Coast Field Marketing, Burger King West Division, talks about how the Proud Whopper and the film came to be:

We are always looking to engage our guests on a local level and be part of regionally relevant events. With one of our restaurants on the Pride Parade route, it was a natural fit to be involved and celebrate by giving something back to the community.

The Proud Whopper is $4.29 and available exclusively at the Burger King restaurant at 1200 Market Street in San Francisco through July 3rd. The most exciting news is that all sales will be donated to the Burger King McLamore Foundation, and will award scholarships to LGBT high schooler seniors who are looking to go to college in the Fall of 2015.
