Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.

1. In their commitment to providing viewers with more nonfiction material, HBO has announced that Monday nights will feature original documentaries year-round. The network kicked off the tradition with last week with the documentary The Case Against 8, about the Supreme Court's overturn of the California ban on marriage equality. With HBO being a reliably inclusive network with documentaries such as Vito, The Out List and The Normal Heart, we can expect to see Monday nights becoming a bit more LGBT inclusive. Reportedly, one of the upcoming documentaries for the fall will focus on Russia's draconian anti-gay laws.

2. The cast and plot have been revealed for the new Netflix series, Sense8, created by sibling directorial duo Andy and Lana Wachowski. According to Andy Wachowski, "the series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally." It is set to star Daryl Hannah, Naveen Andrews, Freema Agyman, and transgender actress Jamie Clayton (among others) and will debut sometime next year.  Not only is co-director Lana Wachowski openly trans herself, but one of the series' major characters will reportedly be trans as well.

3. The official trailer for the new film The Skeleton Twins has been released. The film stars Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader as her gay twin brother, Milo, who reunite after years of separation and following near death experiences. The film is directed by Craig Johnson and will also star Ty Burrell and Luke Wilson. It is set to be released September 19. Check out the trailer below!

4. The new HBO Bessie Smith biopic has added Oliver Platt, Bryan Greenburg and Tory Kittles to the cast who will star alongside Queen Latifah, playing the blues icon herself. The film revolves around the challenges the singer faced during her rise to fame in the 1920s, including the rumors of her affairs with women during her marriage to Jack Gee. The film does not yet have a set release date.

5. The first single off of openly lesbian and recently married musician Melissa Etheridge's new album is now available to purchase on iTunes. The song is called 'Take My Number' and is off her new solo album that is set to be released in September of this year.

7. Golf Alpha Yankee, a documentary about the torture and imprisonment of LGBT people from Iran and their escape to freedom, has finished collecting footage and now needs your help to complete the editing and distribution process! The film was created by Rick Flynn to raise awareness and initiate change in parts of the world where it is still very dangerous to be LGBT. To find out more about the project, check out their Kickstarter page and watch the trailer below!
