Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring has asked the Supreme Court to hear a case that challenges the state's ban on marriage for same-sex couples. Chris Geidner at Buzzfeed reports:
What distinguishes Herring’s filing is that his is the first request to the Supreme Court by a party that backs the position of same-sex couples that the ban is unconstitutional.
