Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.
1) The documentary The Dog, by directors Allison Berg and Frank Keraudren, tells the story of John Wojtowicz, who famously attempted to rob a Brooklyn bank to finance his transgender lover's medical transition. The case was the inspiration for the classic Al Pacino film Dog Day Afternoon. The Dog is playing in select theaters in New York, watch the trailer below.
2) Portuguese filmmaker Joaquim Pinto's documentary, What Now? Remind Me, tells his personal story of living with HIV for almost twenty years. In the film he documents a year of experimental drug treatment and looks back on his life while paying tribute to his friends and partners. What Now? Remind Me played at the 51st New York Film Festival last year and opens August 8 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Watch the trailer below.

3) Out British singer-songwriter Sam Smith, has released the music video for his new single, "I'm Not the Only One" from his debut album In the Lonely Hour. The video features Glee actress Dianna Agron as a housewife and Chris Messina of The Mindy Project as her adulterous husband. Watch the music video below.
4) The sixth and final season of Glee will be adding five new characters to McKinley High, including a gay football player named Spencer, who possesses an incredible voice. Co-creator Ryan Murphy has mentioned that the show would be returning to its original concept for the final season. Glee is set to return to Fox’s television schedule during midseason.
5) Writer and producer Llene Chaiken (The L Word, The Real L Word) and Magical Elves Productions are premiering the 90 minute documentary L Word Mississippi: Hate the Sin tonight on Showtime at 9pm. The documentary follows the lives of lesbians living in the conservative South and spotlights the challenges they encounter. Watch the trailer below.
6) Out singer-songwriter Mary Lambert has released the official music video for her song "Secrets" from her upcoming album Heart On My Sleeve, out October 14. You can pre-order the album on iTunes now and download the song "When You Sleep." Watch the video for "Secrets" below.
7) Melissa Johnson has directed a new short film for ESPN’s Nine for IX series about out basketball player Brittney Griner.Lifesize follows Griner and her basketball career in China with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls last year. Watch the 15 minute short below.
8) Elton John, David Furnish, and True Blood creator Alan Ball are seeking musical actors for their upcoming HBO drama, Virtuoso. The television series is set in 1790's Vienna at an elite music academy run by Mozart’s rival Antonio Salieri
9) NBC comedy series Undateable has been renewed for a 10 episode second season.
Undateable stars Chris D’Elia as a single thirty something who becomes friends with a group of “undateable” guys, including gay character Brett played by actor David Fynn.
10) The LGBT human rights documentary Golf Alpha Yankee, directed by Rick Flynn, tells the story of LGBT people from Iran who were forced to leave their country because of their sexual orientation, and are waiting in Turkey as asylum seekers with the United Nations.
