According to his lawyer, LGBT ally Chris Kluwe has reached a settlement with The Minnesota Vikings over the threat of lawsuit over Kluwe’s release from the team. After his release from the team earlier this year, Kluwe threatened the team representatives with a lawsuit based on religious discrimination, sexual orientation discrimination, defamation, and tortious interference with contractual obligations.

As cited in Deadspin, after publicly supporting LGBT rights as well as fellow ally Brendon Ayanbadejo, Kluwe faced multiple instances of intolerant language by special teams' coordinator Mike Priefer.

“I felt uncomfortable each time Mike Priefer said these things. After all, he was directly responsible for reviewing my job performance, but I hoped that after the vote concluded in Minnesota his behavior would taper off and eventually stop" said Kluwe.

In response to the negative comments, Mike Priefer will be suspended for 3 games. He also pledged to donate $100,000 to five LGBT rights charitable and educational organizations over the next five years.
