New Yorkers can catch a showing of new documentary 'Through a Lens Darkly' with special Q&A this Thursday

New Yorkers can catch a special "Salute to LGBT Artists" event this Thursday, September 4 at Film Forum which will include a screening of the new documentary Through a Lens Darkly: Black Photographers and the Emergence of a People followed by a question and answer session with Lola Flash and Ocean Morisset. Tickets are available now, check out the trailer below.

Through a Lens Darkly is the first documentary to explore the role of photography in shaping identity and the social emergence of black culture through looking back at images suppressed, forgotten and lost from pre-Civil War to current day. The film includes several LGBT artists of color who share their stories including Lola Flash, Lyle Ashton Harris, Glenn Ligon and Carla Williams.
