1) ION Television will air the upcoming third season of Canadian medical drama Saving Hope. The first season aired on NBC in 2012, but the network opted not to pick up season two. The series features Dr. Shahir Hamza, Chief of Neurosurgery, and his longtime boyfriend OR Nurse Victor Reis as part of the team at Toronto's Hope Zion Hospital. No timetable has yet been announced for ION's broadcast of the series, though the third season will debut on Canada's CTV September 22.
2) Next Wednesday's Top Chef Duels on Bravo will feature out Boston chef Tiffani Faison competing to raise money for regional marriage equality nonprofit organization MassEquality. Viewers can vote at Bravotv.com/vote or by texting TIFFANI to 27286 (BRAVO) from 10:00pm EST on Wednesday, September 10 during Faison's episode through 4:00pm EST the following Wednesday, September 17.
3) NBC has given a script order to Sean Hayes' Hospitality, a multi-camera comedy that would air live every week with live commercials, about the staff of a midtown Manhattan hotel. If the series, written by Chris Moynihan, is picked up, it would become the third NBC offering from Hayes' Hazy Mills Productions alongside Grimm and the Jane Lynch-hosted Hollywood Game Night.
4) Mary Lambert has released the title track from her upcoming album Heart on My Sleeve ahead of its October 14 issue. The album is available for pre-order on iTunes now and comes with instant download of lead single "Secrets" plus "Heart On My Sleeve" and ballad "When You Sleep." 5) It's been close to a decade since Sleater-Kinney released their final album, but next month Sub Pop will release the Start Together box set featuring all seven of the band's studio albums remastered. Only 3,000 copies of the deluxe vinyl box set will be produced and the set will include a 44-page book with never-before-seen pictures of Sleater-Kinney and a limited edition print. Fans who pre-order through the Sub Pop store will get instant downloads of all seven albums ahead of the October 21 release of the physical box set.
6) DC Comics will launch an all new Secret Six series in December as part of the New 52 which will feature Catman, a fan-favorite character that series writer Gail Simone has said before is bisexual though it was not previously made clear in canon. "You’re going to see right away kind of what Catman’s about," she told Hero Complex. “I don’t want to reveal too much just because it is part of his character and part of his story to unfold these things through the story."
7) Actress, writer and comedian Lily Tomlin is one of five honorees set to be recognized at the 37th annual Kennedy Center Honors for contributions to "American culture through the performing arts." The event takes place December 7 and will air on CBS on December 30. Tomlin was honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2003. Her new Netflix series Grace and Frankie– about a pair of former frenemies who learn their husbands are in love with each other - is set to debut next year.
8) New film Late Expectations is looking for funding help on Indiegogo to cover post-production and festival costs. The film follows high school senior India who is preparing for graduation and her freshman year at Brown University while trying to hide a secret relationship with her best friend from her family.
