1) The Skeleton Twins, starring Saturday Night Live alums Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig, opens in theaters today. The drama follows estranged twins Milo and Maggie who reunite following near-death experiences. The siblings examine the twists their lives have taken since they stopped talking, including Milo searching for closure with his ex-lover. Watch the trailer below.
2) Space Station 76 is out now in theaters in New York and Los Angeles. The dark comedy follows the crew of the Omega 76 as the closeted captain struggles to cope after his partner leaves the ship. Check out the trailer below, the star-studded film premiered at this year's Outfest.
3) Out Skyfall star Ben Whishaw has landed a lead role in upcoming five episode BBC Two drama London Spy, based on the Child 44 trilogy written by Tom Rob Smith. Whishaw will play Danny, an extroverted romantic who finds himself drawn in the complex world of espionage when his boyfriend Alex suddenly disappears. London Spy will begin filming next month and premiere on BBC Two in 2015.
4) Andrea Parker (Pretty Little Liars) is joining the cast of FOX's Red Band Society as the lesbian mother of one of the pediatric unit's patients. Described as a fashionable and connected woman, the character is determined to get her daughter a heart transplant as soon as possible.
5) Erasure is now streaming their new full album The Violet Flame, their 16th studio album, for free. The Violet Flame will hit stores September 23. The music video for their lead single "Elevation" was also released recently and delivers an electropop party not to be missed.
6) Jinkx Monsoon has released a new video for "The Bacon Shake" and takes us back to the great days of vaudeville glam. The song is included on Monsoon's full length LP The Inevitable Album, currently available on iTunes.
7) This Tuesday was the 10-year anniversary of Tegan and Sara's So Jealous! To commemorate the event they are compiling a book and 3 disc box set, So Jealous X, which is scheduled to be released in December. Pre-orders will begin later this fall, and for more info visit their official site.
8) The new musical Developing Daisy is searching for funding help ahead of their January 2015 production at Manhattan's Theater for the New City. The musical follows Daisy Frank, an aging photographer who comes to term with her long lost relationship and embraces her future with the help of a young new assistant.
