This Thursday, we celebrate Spirit Day, a day when everyone from celebrities and corporations to schools and community members will wear purple and connect on social media to stand in solidarity against bullying and show support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth.

For students and educators participating in New York City and looking for a way to keep the momentum going after Thursday, the NYC Gay-Straight Alliance Summit on October 27th is a perfect opportunity. The Brooklyn Community Pride Center is partnering with the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN NYC) to provide an evening of workshops and networking for youth GSA leaders, members, and faculty advisors. This event will give GSA members from all over the city a chance to connect with each other in person, as well as to share their knowledge and learn from one another, in turn bringing the momentum back to their schools.

Whether you are a student, faculty member, or partner, you can register now for the NYC GSA Summit. Proposals for workshops are still being accepted until this Friday, October 17th, so if you feel as though your GSA has activities and learning to share, you can sign up to present, too! This event will be held from 5-7:30pm at the High School of Economics and Finance in Manhattan.
