Alongside many other ABC Family shows, two castmembers of the comedy series Young & Hungry have gone purple for Spirit Day and released new videos urging viewers to join them in taking a stand against bullying tomorrow, October 16. Young & Hungry stars Emily Osment as a young food blogger named Gabi who is hired by a tech entrepenuer named Josh (Sadowski) to be his personal chef. The show also stars Carrero as Gabi's best friend, and out actor Rex Lee as Josh's publicist.
The casts of Pretty Little Liars, The Fosters, Baby Daddy, Chasing Life, and Melissa & Joey already went purple during the past week! Additionally, the network's series will go purple on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for Spirit Day this Thursday.
Spirit Day, which will take place on October 16, inspires millions to wear purple or "go purple" online in a united stand against bullying and to show their support for LGBT youth. Each year, Spirit Day draws the participation of celebrities, corporations, media outlets, sports leagues, schools, faith institutions, national landmarks, and individuals. Spirit Day is made possible by the generous support of its national partners PepsiCo and Wells Fargo, as well as official partners Comcast-NBCUniversal and Google, and supporting partner American Eagle Outfitters.
GLAAD, GLSEN and Pacer’s National Bullying Prevention Center are also partnering with the Disney ABC Television Group for the Choose Kindness campaign. For National Bullying Prevention month Disney's Be Inspired website will include resources for children, teens, and parents about how to prevent bullying.
