Comcast and NBC Universal have partnered with GLAAD to send a message of support to LGBT youth around the world. Many of the company's networks and stars, including some from MSNBC, USA, Syfy, Bravo and Oxygen took a stand against bullying for Spirit Day.

This morning the NBC sign on TODAY was lit purple and co-hosts kicked-off Spirit Day, along with the hosts of many NBC local affiliate morning shows, encouraging viewers to join them in wearing purple.

Throughout the day, Comcast and NBC Universal went purple on social media.

Access Hollywood was there as Laverne Cox lit the Empire State Building purple.

Comcast CommunityNBC Universal's Diversity and Inclusion groupOUT @Comcast and OUT @NBCUniversal (the company's LGBT employees alliances), all took to twitter to encourage employees to wear purple. Comcast and NBC Universal set up #spiritday photo booths throughout the country and even in London for employees, friends and family members to take Spirit Day photos and take part in the company's stand against bullying.

Debra Messing, the star of The Mysteries of Laura on NBC even joined them.

Spirit Day, which takes place today, October 16, inspires millions to wear purple or "go purple" online in a united stand against bullying and to show their support for LGBT youth. Each year, Spirit Day draws the participation of celebrities, corporations, media outlets, sports leagues, schools, faith institutions, national landmarks, and individuals. Spirit Day is made possible by the generous support of its national partners PepsiCo and Wells Fargo, as well as official partners Comcast-NBCUniversal and Google, and supporting partner American Eagle Outfitters.

You can go purple now by putting on purple, posting about #spiritday, and sharing your favorite #spiritday posts on social media.
