WWE and The Creative Coalition are supporting GLAAD’s Spirit Day by “going purple” through their joint Be a STAR (Show Tolerance And Respect) anti-bullying initiative. WWE is promoting Spirit Day on TheCreativeCoalition.org, WWE.com, WWECommunity.com and on WWE and Be a STAR social media assets, reaching more than 400 million people globally.

As part of The Creative Coalition and WWE’s support for GLAAD — a Be a STAR Alliance Member — the Be a STAR logo was turned purple, a first in the program’s history, and students at the rally were given co-branded T-shirts that encouraged them to “Go Purple” on Spirit Day, to show their support for LGBT youth and to speak out against bullying. WWE has supported GLAAD’s Spirit Day since 2011.

Additionally, WWE and Be a STAR will stand up against bullying and support GLAAD’s Spirit Day by promoting the initiative through homepage takeovers on WWE.com and WWECommunity.com as well as social media support from WWE Superstars and Divas.

Darren Young, the first and only openly gay WWE Superstar, is returning to the ring. He was one of the leading Superstars to promote Spirit Day. You can see a video of his comeback and some of the social media posts below.

Spirit Day, which takes place today, October 16, inspires millions to wear purple or "go purple" online in a united stand against bullying and to show their support for LGBT youth. Each year, Spirit Day draws the participation of celebrities, corporations, media outlets, sports leagues, schools, faith institutions, national landmarks, and individuals. Spirit Day is made possible by the generous support of its national partners PepsiCo and Wells Fargo, as well as official partners Comcast-NBCUniversal and Google, and supporting partner American Eagle Outfitters.

You can go purple now by putting on purple, posting about #spiritday, and sharing your favorite #spiritday posts on social media.
