In its latest issue People en Español has profiled the 25 most powerful Latinas in media and one of the women highlighted also appears in the Latino GLBT History Project's digital exhibit profiles of Latino Heroes, Ingrid M. Duran.

Duran and her partner Catherine Pino who is also featured in the Latino GLBT History Project's 90 Latino Heroes online exhibit started a company D&P Creative Strategies to advance the hopes and dreams of Latino and LGBT people. As part of their work they co-created along with Freedom to Marry the Familia es Familia initiative to ensure that bilingual and bicultural materials, resources and spokespeople were available to the Latino community so that they could participate in the national discussion around marriage equality.

The Latino GLBT History Project's exhibition is an invaluable resource to those looking to connect with and celebrate the triumphs of Latino LGBT people in the US. The people featured have overcome the struggles of immigration, discrimination on various fronts and other challenges to succeed in their various fields and give back to their intersected communities.

During LGBT history month and Hispanic Heritage month, what a great way to celebrate by checking out the stories and profiles of people who make both lists.
