The GLAAD Wrap: 'The Way He Looks' in theaters, 'Life Partners' on demand and more!

Every week, The GLAAD Wrap brings you LGBT-related entertainment news highlights, fresh stuff to watch out for, and fun diversions to help you kick off the weekend.

1) The Way He Looks is out now in select theaters, the film is Brazil's official submission for the 2015 Academy Awards' Best Foreign Language Film category. The Way He Looks follows blind teenager Leonardo, his best friend Giovanna and Leo's crush Gabriel who recently moved to their town. GLAAD's Director of Entertainment Media recently wrote an op-ed on the importance of Brazil choosing this LGBT-inclusive film as their only submission. 2) Life Partners is out on demand and through iTunes now ahead of its theatrical release on December 5. The film follows best friends Sasha (Leighton Meester) and Paige (Gillian Jacobs) who have made a pact: Paige will not get married until Sasha has the same right. However when handsome doctor Tim (Adam Brody) meets Paige, the trio struggle to hold on to their relationships as they deal with questions of love, friendship and loyalty.

3) Nominees have been announced for the British Independent Film Awards and Pride picked up nominations in seven categories including Best British Independent Film. It is joined in that category by The Imitation Game, the upcoming film starring Benedict Cumberbatch as closeted genius mathematician Alan Turing, which picked up four nominations. Lilting, which follows the journey to understanding that a British man takes with the Chinese Cambodian mother of his deceased partner, garnered three nominations.

4) HBO is developing a new series called Bros that follows three brothers - two straight, one gay - as they search for love in Los Angeles. Out writer Corey Jones will pen the series loosely based on his own life as a gay black man and out writer/producer Lena Waithe will executive produce Bros.

5) ABC Family has renewed the drama Chasing Life for a second season! The series, which will be coming back for a holiday episode in December, follows April, a young ambitious journalist who is balancing her work and love life when she receives news that she has Leukemia. In the first season, April's younger sister Brenna falls in love with her friend Greer and starts to explore her attraction to boys and girls.

6) Rosie O'Donnell will reprise her role on ABC Family's The Fosters for at least two more episodes in early 2015. O'Donnell plays Rita Hendricks, the tough but loving caregiver at the Girls United group home that Callie landed in after she ran away.

7) Out singer-songwriter Steve Grand is back with two new tunes! This week he released the new single "Time," available on iTunes now, as well as a cover of Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets." Grand first gained attention last year when his song "All-American Boy," about his unrequited love for a straight man, went viral.

8) New British short film WONDERKID is looking for funding help on Kickstarter. The film follows a young professional soccer player searching for acceptance as he comes out, while also dealing with his issues with alcohol and OCD.
