While same-sex couples are fighting for the right to marry in the United States, our Latin American counterparts are fighting the same battle. The recent victories in Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, and Ecuador have inspired advocates in Venezuela to push for marriage equality.

Celebrities from different backgrounds recently came together to take part in a video with a powerful message: they support same-sex marriage.

The video urges viewers to write to their government representatives telling them it's time begin discussing same-sex marriage. The video titled "Yo Apoyo La Ley Del Amor" was published on their YouTube channel on October 22, 2014.

This is an interesting time in Venezuela—doing well at the box office is the film "Liz en Septiembre" which is, in part, about two women who fall in love, and is directed by Fina Torres whose films include "Orianna" and "Celestial Clockwork."

The celebrities who participated in the PSA include journalist Adriana D'Onghia, comedian Jean Mary, actress and singer Mariaca Semprun, soccer player Ricardo Andretti, comedian Jóse Rafael Guzmán G along with journalists, well-known tattoo artists and comedians and sports figures.
