A series of petitions have popped up on Change.org calling on various states to ban anti-LGBT "conversion therapy."

The petitions cite the death of Leelah Alcorn, a 17-year-old transgender teen who died by suicide in December. In a note she left, she cited being forced into so-called "conversion therapy."
Both the American Medical Association and the American Psychological Association have criticized the use of such tactics, but only New Jersey and California have banned the practice.
Find a petition at Change.org to urge your state legislators to take action to ban the harmful practice. You can also check our GLAAD's resource "Unmasking so-called 'ex-gay' activists."
