Ashley Lane, a 15-year-old transgender teen from Ohio, went missing on Saturday night. Lane was last seen attending the Ohayocon rave at the Columbus Convention Center. When she did not come back to her hotel room around midnight, her parents, Karalea Lane and Denver Karshner, began to worry. Thankfully, she was recovered today safely.

Her parents were concerned for her safety. "You know, I worry about violence," her stepfather Karshner said.

Ohio has experienced extremely high levels of violence against transgender women. In 2013 and 2014, at least four transgender women were murdered in Ohio alone. Recently, the story of an Ohio transgender teen, Leelah Alcorn, made headlines when her suicide note surfaced, revealing the discrimination she faced as a transgender women.

See a statement below of Zak Rittenhouse, who located Ashley.
