GLAAD is among more than 100 LGBT organizations participating in the Our Tomorrow campaign that launched today. Our Tomorrow is a grassroots and digital initiative to engage the LGBT community in a conversation about its future. The Advocate, the Huffington Post, and the Rainbow Times are among the outlets reporting on this announcement.
While the LGBT community has seen great advances towards equality, including numerous law and policy changes, there is still much farther to go before everyone in the LGBT community has full equality and cultural acceptance. Our tomorrow is working to close that gap between what has been achieved and the work we still have to do, in line with GLAAD's dedication to accelerating acceptance.
The campaign's site features a Story Wall filled with ideas, messages of hopes, and even offers a safe space to express fears from LGBT people about the ongoing movement for LGBT equality. In order to "make tomorrow better for all of us," the site celebrates open conversations by allowing people to contribute by sharing their own voices. They can even choose to remain anonymous.

The campaign seeks to highlight a diverse spectrum of voices to ensure a movement that honors the intersecting needs and identities of the LGBT community.
“From the nation’s largest LGBTQ organizations to regional and local groups, we are joining together to launch this opportunity and take part in a dialogue about our collective road forward,” said Curtis Lipscomb, Executive Director of LGBT Detroit and one of Our Tomorrow’s more than 100 partner organizations nationwide. “With the marriage case now before the US Supreme Court, Our Tomorrow comes at a pivotal moment and I’m excited about the opportunity it provides us to help shape the future of the LGBT movement authentically.”
“Our Tomorrow represents a unique opportunity for a major social movement to initiate a national public dialogue to generate inspiration, information and ideas for its future,” said Our Tomorrow campaign manager Lee Swislow. “This conversation will help create a bigger, bolder, more inclusive movement that speaks to the hopes and needs of the full diversity of the LGBTQ community.”
