1) Sony Pictures Classics' biopic Saint Laurent opens today in New York and Los Angeles. The film follows the troubled designer from 1967 to 1976 starting five years after he and his partner Pierre Berge founded Yves Saint Lauren YSL. Saint Laurent was the first to popularize ready-to-wear fashion and became known for his iconic pieces and clean lines. Find a screening in NY and LA now and keep an eye out for Saint Laurent screening near you soon.
2) The D Train opens in theaters across the country today. The comedy premiered at Sundance in January and stars James Marsden as bisexual actor Oliver Lawless and Jack Black as his insecure former classmate Dan Landsman who hopes that getting Lawless to appear at their class reunion will win him the popularity he never had in high school. 3) Award-winning dramedy film Eat With Me is available now through on services iTunes and WolfeOnDemand.com, with a DVD release coming June 2nd. The film follows a woman named Emma who moves in with her struggling chef son Elliot after leaving her marriage. Though she has never been able to accept that Elliot is gay, the two find they're finally able to communicate through cooking traditional Chinese food. 4) ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars sixth season premieres on June 2 and the first sneak peek is out now! The new season takes a dark turn, picking up just moments after the finale with the liars still trapped in Charles' caged compound. The half season is being billed as the #summerofanswers as we learn Charles/A's story. Check out the sneak peek below and don't miss Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family, Tuesday, June 2 at 8.
5) Out actors Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi, stars of the PBS GLAAD Media Award-nominated series Vicious, will serve as Grand Marshalls for the New York City Pride Parade on June 28. PBS announced their summer lineup this week, including Vicious' season two premiere on August 23. This summer, PBS will also see the third season premiere of the LGBT-inclusive drama Last Tango in Halifax (June 28); out tennis legend Billie Jean King will be interviewed on American Masters September 4; the film Limited Partnership about bi-national couple Richard Adams and Tony Sullivan who married in Colorado in 1975 premieres on Independent Lens June 15; and documentary Out in the Night about the New Jersey 4 premieres on POV on June 22.
6) Out screenwriter and director Dee Rees is partnering with TV legend Shonda Rhimes to develop a television adaptation of the 2010 Isabel Wilkerson nonfiction novel The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration for FX. The book, a historical study about The Great Migration and Second Great Migration of black people from the South to the U.S. North, Midwest and West between 1915 and 1970, received the National Book Award for Nonfiction and was a New York Times bestseller. Rees most recently directed HBO's Bessie about bisexual blues singer Bessie Smith (Queen Latifah) and queer blues singer Ma Rainey (Mo'Nique), and may be best known for her GLAAD Media Award-winning feature film Pariah about 17-year-old lesbian Alike as she begins to figure out and embrace her identity.
7) E! has picked up the docuseries Just Jillian which will follow former Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels as she balances business with raising two kids with her partner Heidi Rhoades. Vice.com previewed a new series, Gaycation with Ellen Page, at their NewFront presentation which could make it to air if the rumored Vice network becomes official. The long-awaited Neil Patrick Harris NBC variety show now has an official name; Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris will bow this fall and combine comedy, music and game show elements.
8) Everyone's favorite bisexual immortal time traveler Captain Jack Harkness (out actor John Barrowman) will return in a new series of audio dramas, each focusing on a different member of the Torchwood team. The television series Torchwood, about an intrepid team of alien hunters, was itself a spin off from British TV institution Doctor Who, which ran from 2006 to 2011. The first audio drama episode, Torchwood: The Conspiracy, will be released in September with five more episodes rolling out monthly starting in January 2016. All episodes are available for preorder now, either individually or as a subscription.
9) The Indigo Girls have released a new single, "Learned It on Me," ahead of the June 2 release of their next album One Lost Day. The song follows a couple who've broken up, and one wants to talk about how much they learned from their relationship while the other feels bitter but tries to be happy for their ex. The Indigo Girls start touring in June and One Lost Day is available for preorder now.
10) Short film Gold Star, which recently won the Latino Public Broadcasting New Media Grant, is looking for funding help to cover pre-production costs. Gold Star follows imaginative 10-year-old Liliana who bonds with her new neighbor Xitlali who encourages her rock star dreams and fosters a sense of confidence in the girl. When Liliana dedicates a love song to her female teacher at her elementary school talent show, the negative reactions from the school and her mother make her question herself, but her friendship with Xitlali provides solace.
