The polls are open in Ireland, and people are lined up in droves to vote YES for marriage equality. If passed, Ireland will become the first to pass marriage equality through a national referendum.
Across social media, Irish people are posting tweets, photos, and other items that show off their pride in voting yes and encouraging others to go to the polls before they vote at 10:00 p.m. local time.
Make your mark today. Vote YES and be proud. #VoteWithUshttps://t.co/Gi4pyyCXnp

In an even more touching move, several posters are sharing that they are traveling home from abroad to ensure that they vote. Mashable and the Independent are among the media who are highlighting the story of Irish traveling (thousands of miles, in some cases) home to vote for marriage equality.
