Later this month, I will be in my home state of South Carolina as part of GLAAD's Southern Stories Summer Tour, and I hope you can join me. In both Charleston and Columbia, we will be premiering a GLAAD original mini-documentary chronicling pioneers in the Palmetto State's movement for LGBT equality and lifting up the stories of LGBT South Carolinians and their allies working to accelerate acceptance.
In each city, the evening will open with a reception, followed by a screening and panel discussion featuring individuals and organizations profiled in the mini-documentary. I will serve as moderator and will be joined by GLAAD's President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis for special remarks.

As we head toward a decision from the Supreme Court on the issue of marriage later this month, it's important for us to recognize the work that has gone before us – and the considerable work ahead of us – to ensure that everyone, no matter where they live, is loved, accepted, and able to live their authentic lives. We are so grateful to our organizational partners who are doing the difficult work every day to make this vision a reality in South Carolina. And we appreciate their support in helping us bring these short films and these events to you.
These events are free and open to the public, but you need to RSVP to reserve your space. I hope to see you later this month!
