GLAAD joined St. Alexis Episcopal Church on Sunday morning as a part of the GLAAD Southern Stories Summer Tour. In addition to bringing a greeting to the congregation, GLAAD's Director of Programs, Ross Murray, delivered the sermon to the congregation.

The sermon followed the scripture text from Mark 4:26-34, focusing on two stories Jesus told about seeds being planted and growing into strong. Murray spoke about how faith is not something we can force or control, but rather something that God nurtures and grows within us. In the same way, acceptance of those who are 'other', including LGBT people.

GLAAD also posted images from this welcoming congregation designed for people who have felt alienated from church, including LGBT people. Check out our social media posts from the morning.
