For Valentine’s Day, GLAAD is spotlighting stories of trans people in loving relationships—whether with peers, birth or chosen family, friends, partners, and people in their lives who show up and support them, including themselves. The news cycle is oversaturated with stories of rejection, discrimination, and violence. While those are real issues facing the community, it’s also important to highlight that love is possible and trans people are worthy.

People within the community are sharing their #TransLoveStories on social media as part of a needed culture shift. GLAAD is amplifying these stories to show trans people in loving relationships and as models for how to show up and support the trans community.

Check out all the #TransLoveStories here.

#TransLoveStories Queer love is divine. The power of my love for my trans partner transcends the comprehension of any living creature. There’s magic in the lyrics of my love songs about him. There is a spell in every word of admiration, in every kiss, in every embrace. The force is strong enough to shake the earth and also gentle, so as to not disturb a single curl on his brilliant head. Truly an entire meadow blooms when he smiles at the sight of me. I know this must be true because the feeling he conjures in me with that smile is my reason for breathing. And if that pure joy is not strong enough to make flowers blossom, I don’t know what reason I would have for being alive. Our love is what I believe in. It’s the one thing in the world that I trust in completely. I love you, @wrenovating. Happy Valentine’s Day

May 25th, 2019: "For a few weeks now, I've been talking to this guy named Eddie. We're finally meeting this Monday at 7 and I can't wait. I'm already a little smitten and hoping he's going to become something significant in my life." This isn't the first time that I've been in a relationship in February, but it's definitely the first time I've celebrated Valentine's Day. I wanted it to be special because I've never celebrated before, and Eddie's been humoring me. He deserves a medal. I'm going to be my usual, high-strung, "everything needs to be perfect" self all weekend, but that's okay. Everything already is perfect. I think I was meant to wait for this man—THIS man—to come along. After so many wrong turns and dark alleys, somebody sees me as I am and loves me, and I him. I've never known someone so doting, so warm, and so passionate for virtually everything in life. I've never looked for someone to "complete" my world. Then you came along with a rich, vibrant world of your own, and I thought to myself, "that's the world I want to live in." I knew I was going to want you the moment I saw you, and wouldn't you know? It turns out I was right. Happy Valentine's Day, @egnovoa. I love you so much. #TransLoveStories

Last night I went to @cirquedusoleil with @hunterisawake. Thanks @lalgbtcenter! Super fun!! I wore the necklace my little brother @dirt.glass made for ME on the red carpet. This necklace means so much to me because my brother and I were inseparable as little kids and although my transition made things different for a short time, I feel close to my little brother again. This necklace (that I also wore in my new music video) symbolizes love and support. It makes me feel close to my brother and my family even from 3000 miles away. I feel proud to wear this necklace and to have so much family support. See you soon little bro! So proud of you and your art accomplishments!! #translovestories #volta @glaad
