1) Civil War "mockumentary" The Battle of Pussy Willow Creek opens in limited release in New York today. The film follows four "forgotten heroes," including a gay colonel and his Confederate ex-boyfriend who saved the Union from a wicked foreign plot, but had their triumph "stricken from the history books." The Battle of Pussy Willow Creek will be playing at The Quad Cinema in NYC from March 1-7, tickets available here. Watch the trailer below.
2) Nigel Barker, host of Oxygen's The Face and former judge on America's Next Top Model, has announced that he is working on a film based on the life of legendary LGBT advocate and two-time bestselling author David Mixner. Barker says the film will cover Mixner's life from his childhood in New Jersey through his work with Clinton campaign and protesting "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" as he became a leader in the movement for equality. Mixner was honored with the Pioneer Award at the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, watch his acceptance speech below.
3) All My Children's lesbian character Bianca Montgomery, who made history in a 2009 episode of the ABC series when she married Reese Williams, will return to the soap-turned-web series when it premieres on Hulu this spring. The web series will also include Denyse Tontz (Big Time Rush) as Bianca's teenage daughter, Miranda Montgomery.

5) ABC's new LGBT-inclusive series Mistresses will premiere Monday, May 27 at 10:00pm. As reported in GLAAD's Where We Are on TV report, the remake of the hit British drama of the same name will feature recurring lesbian characters Alex (Shannyn Sossamon) and Sally (Victoria Mussett).
