MTV stars Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley might be having a kiki when Scissor Sister Jake Shears performs at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York on March 16. Shears' special performance will be dedicated to longtime friend Anderson Cooper, who will be presented with the Vito Russo Award by noneother than Madonna. Other special guests will include Debra Messing and the cast of NBC's Smash, John Leguizamo, Ellen Barkin, Milla Jovovich and more.

Shears is best known as lead male vocalist for the Scissor Sisters. While the band is on indefinite hiatus, they are nominated in the Outstanding Music Artist category this year. The band received the award in the same category at the 22nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards.
LGBT allies Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley of MTV's The Jersey Shore and spin-off Snooki & JWoww have used their platform to take a stand against bullying and show their support for LGBT youth by wearing purple during last year's Spirit Day. JWoww recently posed for the NOH8 campaign and spoke about her support of marriage equality. "Because I think everyone gay, straight, should be able to have that [traditional wedding] and cherish that and have all the pictures, the family everything. It's really important to me," she said in an interview.
The anchors of Good Morning America, Lara Spencer, Josh Elliott and Sam Champion will host the event. Special guests include NFL players Brendon Ayanbadejo and Chris Kluwe, actress Ellen Barkin, MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry and Thomas Roberts, and John Leguizamo. Additional guests for the New York event to be announced.
The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held in New York on March 16, 2013 at the New York Marriott Marquis; in Los Angeles on April 20 at the JW Marriott; and in San Francisco on May 11 at the Hilton San Francisco - Union Square. Additional Special Honorees for each city will be announced in coming weeks.
The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the LGBT community and the issues that affect their lives. They also fund GLAAD's work to amplify stories from the LGBT community that build support for equality.
The 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards are executive produced by Marc Honaker, Director of Creative Development at GLAAD, and by Josh Wood, founder and president of Josh Wood Productions. Emmy Award winning production designer James Connelly will design this year's set across the three cities. Acclaimed producer and editor Brett Henrichsen will also contribute to this year's GLAAD Media Awards.
