While thousands of people gather in Washington DC and across the country to rally for marriage equality, a significant number of those will be gathering for interfaith rallies and prayer vigils. Join GLAAD in DC and at any of the events around the country.
In Washington DC, the United for Marriage Coalition is hosting A Prayer for Love & Justice, a sunrise service on March 26th. Over 20 renowned faith leaders, gospel singers, drummers, choir & community will lead this historic multi-faith sunrise service. The service ends with a processional to United for Marriage Rally at the steps of The Supreme Court.
Gospel Singers Bishop Yvette Flunder& Marvin Mathews are rousing the crowd with great songs, like Total Praise& Break Every Chain, and Let There Be Peace On Earth.
The leadership for the service is broad, and includes Dean Gary Hall of the National Cathedral, Wiccan Priestess Selena Fox, Bishop Gene Robinson, Zen Buddhist Reverend Lawrence Grecco, Rabbi Deborah Reichmann, Sister Jeannine Gramick of the National Coalition of American Nuns, Imam Daayiee Abdullah of Muslims for Progressive Values, Two-Spirit Marlon Fixico of Southern Cheyenne First Nations Collective, Rev. Elder Darlene Garner of Metropolitan Community Churches, and leaders from Unity Fellowship, United Church of Christ, United Methodist, and many more.

That same evening, 100 people will gather for Parting the Waters: A Seder for Love, Liberation & Justice for the second day of Passover and the Prop 8 challenge being argued at the Supreme Court offers the perfect opportunity for a second night Seder focused on marriage equality and vital work of pursuing of love, liberation and justice in every generation. This lively social justice Seder for a multi-faith, multiracial, intergenerational, LGBT and allied crowd will highlight the faith community's longstanding commitment to fairness and dignity for all God's children.
